Beautiful Saturday in store this weekend, rain and cooler weather return Sunday
THIS AFTERNOON: Our temperatures will top out into the low 40s this afternoon, with winds out of the west at 10mph. With full sunshine, it’s not a bad day to get outside to walk the dog if you bring a coat with you.
TONIGHT: Clear skies will remain as temperatures drop into the low 30s by morning. Winds will shift out of the southwest up to 12 mph dropping feels like temperatures into the mid 20s by daybreak.
EXTENDED: Warmer air moves in to start the weekend and it will be mild, breezy and mostly sunny Saturday with high temperatures in the upper 50s to near 60. The fire danger will be high due to dry vegetation, low humidity and gusty winds to 25 mph Saturday. Outdoor burning should be avoided. Heading into Sunday, a storm system passing to our south will lift clouds and moisture into Mid-Missouri in the morning. Rain will start as early as 4 AM in the Ozarks, lifting to the north through the morning and shifting to the east out of our area by early afternoon. Rainfall amounts will range anywhere from trace amounts north of I-70 to a quarter inch south. This is certainly not enough to alleviate our drought but will help settle the dust a bit. Sunday will be slightly cooler, reaching near 50 due to more clouds and winds shifting to the northwest. Early next week temperatures will level out with highs in the 50s as a milder weather pattern develops. Watch ABC17 news for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
