A mild weekend approaches, and finally a chance at rain

TODAY: It will be cloudy and cold this afternoon, much colder than what we saw yesterday. Our winds will stay fairly light, so we will be spared from any harsh wind chills. Regardless, it will feel like winter out there, so if you head outside you will need bring a winter coat with you.

TONIGHT: Clouds hang around tonight as temperatures will drop into the upper 20s by morning. Winds will be light out of the west up to 5 mph. Wind chills will be slight, but still 2-5 degrees below the actual air temperature by morning.

EXTENDED: A weak area of low pressure tracks through Mid-Missouri Thursday night which could bring a few snow flurries. The up and down temperatures continue as we stay in the low 40s Friday but warm into the upper 50s Saturday as southwesterly winds become gusty once again. Sunday will be slightly cooler, reaching near 50 due to more clouds and winds shifting to the northwest as a storm system passes to our south. This will lift moisture to the north, giving us a chance of rain early in the day Sunday with .01 to .25 inches possible with highest amounts south of I-70. Early next week temperatures will level out a bit with highs in the 50s as a milder weather pattern develops.
