Police say Lasso Circle homicide was drug related, suspects forced entry
Columbia police announced on Wednesday they had new details about the homicide in the 1900 block of Lasso Circle.
Police said the investigation revealed that suspects forced entry into the house and assaulted the male and female resident.
Officers said the invasion is believed to be drug related and the residence was targeted by the suspects.
The female, 24, received minor injuries.
ABC 17 previously reported Augustus Roberts was pronounced dead on scene.
Police are asking neighbors in Old Hawthorne to contact the police department if they have any security footage or any information of suspicious vehicle or people in the area prior to the homicide.
