Windy & mild Wednesday

TONIGHT: It will be another cold night as temperatures drop into the upper 20s through the overnight hours under mostly clear skies. Winds will come in from the southwest and increase to near 10 mph by morning, producing wind chills in the lower 20s by daybreak.

WEDNESDAY: We’ll have a windy, mild day with high temperatures reaching the low to mid 50s as westerly winds at 15-20 mph gust to 30 mph, shifting to the northwest. The dry and windy conditions will give us an elevated fire risk and outdoor burning should be avoided.

EXTENDED: Thursday will be cold as high temperatures only reach the upper 30s to near 40. A weak disturbance tracks through Mid-Missouri Thursday night which could bring a few flurries. The up and down temperatures continue as we stay in the low 40s Friday but warm into the upper 50s Saturday as southwesterly winds become gusty once again. Sunday will be slightly cooler, reaching near 50 due to winds shifting to the northwest as a storm system passes well to our south. At this time, there is a slight chance of rain mainly in the Ozarks closer to I-44 Sunday but depends on the track of the southern storm. Most of mid-Missouri looks dry as we head into next week.
