Troopers respond to crash caused by deer in the roadway

Troopers responded to Forrest Park Road on Sunday night for a single-car crash.

According to the crash report, the crash happened as a Mazda slowed to avoid striking a deer in the roadway. The Mazda traveled off the right side of the road and struck some trees.

The driver of the Mazda, Christopher Helliesvig, had moderate injuries and was taken to Bothwell Hospital.

Troopers said the Mazda had extensive damage.
