Columbia police arrest woman after officers find drugs, paraphernalia, and gun

Columbia police arrested Crystal Spiva on Sunday morning after officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Ash Street West in reference to a sleeping person in their vehicle.

Police said when they got on scene they could see a woman sleeping in her car, parked at a gas station pump.

Officers said they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. Police searched the vehicle and found a glass smoking pipe with a burnt white residue, a plastic bag of methamphetamine, two bags of marijuana and four new syringes.

Police said they also found two used syringes, an unloaded gun and a digital scale.

Spiva faces possible charges of possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
