Mizzou volleyball falls to No. 1 Penn State in NCAA tournament

After its second-straight Sweet 16 appearance, the Mizzou volleyball team fell to (1) Penn State in a three-set sweep.

The loss ends the Tigers’ season after finishing 22-11 in the regular season. Mizzou also made the NCAA tournament for its 14th appearance in school history.

The Tigers dropped set one 25-17 after falling in an early 10-4 hole. The second set was much of the same as Mizzou came apart late giving up six of the final seven points of the set.

Melanie Crow led the Tigers with 12 kills.

Mizzou led in the second set by as much as 10-6, but Penn State rallied back to advance to its 16th NCAA Regional appearance.

Prior to the loss, Mizzou defeated Kansas and Wichita State in the tournament.
