Columbia police arrest woman accused of shoplifting, having methamphetamine

Columbia police arrested Kelli Collins on Thursday afternoon after officers were dispatched to a shoplifting incident at the Kohl’s department store on Green Meadows.

Police said a Kohl’s Loss Prevention employee observed Collins in possession of makeup and jewelry items, and passing all points of sale without paying for the merchandise.

Officers said they saw Collins remove the stolen items from her purse. When they searched Collins’ purse, police found the remaining stolen items, methamphetamine and a glass pipe.

Collins was arrested and faces possible charges of possession of a controlled substance, stealing and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
