Child hit by school bus in Moberly discharged from hospital

A 5-year-old girl has been discharged from the hospital after she was hit by a school bus in Moberly.

It happened on East Burkhart Street Wednesday morning, which is near North Park Elementary school.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the girl reportedly walked out in front of the bus before she was hit. She was transported to University Hospital in Columbia with injuries that were significant, but not life-threatening.

School officials sent out an email to parents to inform them about what had happened and offered to answer any questions that may arise following the incident.
