Woman charged with abuse or neglect of child after 15-year-old girl gets pregnant

A woman has been charged with abuse or neglect of a child after a 15-year-old girl got pregnant.

Jessica Hay was in the Morgan County Jail on Tuesday after Versailles police were tipped off that Steven Clark was having a sexual relationship with the juvenile.

ABC17 previously reported that Steven Clark was charged with statutory rape and child molestation.

Police said they arrested Hay for sexual abuse after officers were able to obtain search warrants to look through Hay’s and the victim’s phones.

Officers were able to extract an audio recording from the victim’s phone. The recording states that Hay did not want to go to jail for being an accessory and that the victim should marry Clark so they would not get arrested.
