Hawley comments on the court dismissing Backpage lawsuit

Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley responded on Wednesday to the Federal District Court decision to grant the State’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit filed by Backpage.

Backpage sought to block an investigation by the Missouri Attorney General into whether the company has ties to human trafficking.

“I am glad the court rejected this meritless lawsuit,” Hawley said. “My office is now able to move beyond legal sidestepping and focus on what matters–fighting to eradicate this terrible crime in Missouri.”
