Firefighters respond to 25-acre fire in Audrain County

UPDATE 2:52 pm: Firefighters are currently battling the fire across train tracks, causing at least two trains to stop.

ABC17 crews report that a pile of rail ties have gone up in flames and firefighters are attempting to put them out.

Crews have said that heavy wind and lack of water are exhausting resources.

UPDATE 2:03 pm: ABC 17 crews report a lot of smoke from the fire is crossing the highway. Traffic is slowing down, but not stopped.

ORIGINAL STORY: Firefighters responded to County Road 215 in Audrain County on Tuesday afternoon for an outside fire.

Boone County firefighters were also dispatched to the fire to help.

A spokesperson for the Little Dixie Fire Protection District said it is a fast moving 25-acre fire.

ABC 17 has crews heading to the incident.
