Springlike weather expected for the start of a new week

TODAY: It will be a chilly start to the morning with temperatures in the mid to upper 30s across the region. Despite the chilly start, mostly sunny skies and a southwesterly breeze will warm us into the lower 60s through the afternoon hours. A few high passing clouds are possible through the afternoon hours, as a weak upper level disturbance tracks across the area. This could limit our temperatures by a few degrees, but the going trend will still make it feel like spring this afternoon.

TONIGHT: It looks like the only cool weather we’ll continue to see is through the night. Mostly clear skies will allow temperatures to bottom out in the lower 40s through the night. We’ll be about 5-8 degrees warmer through the night, as winds out of the south will prevent temperatures from dropping.

EXTENDED: The spring-like weather continues into Monday with highs in the upper 60s and gusty southerly winds. Tuesday will also be warm with highs in the lower 60s with more clouds passing through. Our next slight chance for rain holds off until Wednesday into Thursday morning as another cold front is set to track into Mid-Missouri. It’s looking unlikely that we’ll see a lot of rain out of this system. With the low pressure to our south, most of the rain will stay confined to Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas. Even with that said, the cold front will allow for a slow cooling trend by the middle of next week with temperatures back into the mid 50s by Wednesday, with the return of the 40s by Friday.
