Cool night tonight, with springlike temperatures Monday

TONIGHT: It looks like the only cool weather we’ll continue to see is through the night. Mostly clear skies will allow temperatures to bottom out in the lower 40s through the night. We’ll be about 5-8 degrees warmer through the night, as winds out of the south will prevent temperatures from dropping like we’ve seen the past several nights.

MONDAY: Under sunny skies and breezy winds out of the south, we’ll see a nice springlike day in the works for Mid-Missouri. While the morning will feature a light breeze, by the afternoon hours we’ll see winds gust up to 25 mph. If you have any plans to put up Christmas decorations or any yard work, you may want to do it during the morning hours. Highs will top out in the upper 60s and lower 70s, potentially flirting with the record high of 74 set back in 1960.

EXTENDED: Tuesday will also be warm with highs in the lower 60s with more clouds passing through. Our next slight chance for rain holds off until Wednesday into Thursday morning as another cold front is set to track into Mid-Missouri. It’s looking unlikely that we’ll see a lot of rain out of this system. With the low pressure to our south, most of the rain will stay confined to Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas. Even with that said, the cold front will allow for a slow cooling trend by the middle of next week with temperatures back into the mid 50s by Wednesday, with the return of the 40s by Friday.
