Mizzou advances to Advocare Invitational championship game

The Mizzou men’s basketball team beat St. John’s 90-82 to advance to the Advocare Invitational championship game. The Tigers are now 5-1 on the season.

Jordan Barnett led the Tigers with 19 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Jontay Porter had a career high 16 points. He also had five rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Senior Kassius Robertson finished with 17 points. He was 5-7 from three-point range.

As a team, Mizzou was 14-27 from three point range. MU shot 46 percent from the field.

The Tigers led by as many as 16 points in the first half, but the Red Storm came roaring back. St. John’s was up eight points with 12:20 to go in the game, but Mizzou weathered the storm.

Up next, Mizzou will play either UCF or No. 23 West Virginia in the championship game on Sunday at 8:30 p.m.
