One person hospitalized after ejection crash

UPDATE – 8:15 A.M.: Columbia police told ABC 17 News that a vehicle heading southbound on Highway 63 attempted to take the Stadium exit at a high speed causing the driver to lose control.

The car rolled over and was on its side when police arrived to the scene.

“The driver was ejected during the crash,” said Officer Latisha Stroer. “The other two occupants refused medical care on scene.”

CPD said the driver has serious injuries.

ORIGINAL: Columbia firefighters responded to a crash on Highway 63 near Stadium Boulevard around 4 a.m.

Firefighters told ABC 17 News three people were in the car. One was ejected but was talking with first responders.

The car was the only vehicle involved.

The crash did not block traffic.
