Man charged with DWI resulting in physical injury after causing a crash that sent one to hospital

A Cole County man has been charged with a DWI resulting in a physical injury and driving with a revoked license after Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers responded to a single-car crash.

According to the probable cause statement, the car had traveled northbound on Marion Street in Russellville when the car went off the right side of the roadway and struck a mailbox and large tree.

Troopers said one occupant had to go to the hospital because of her injuries.

Initially, troopers said they were led to believe that an occupant was the driver, but after officers investigated, they came to the conclusion that Dillon Blackwell was the driver.

Troopers said Blackwell smelled of intoxicants and had a blood alcohol content of .198%.

Blackwell was placed under arrest and taken to the Cole County Jail.
