Holiday travelers expected to run into roadwork in Mid-Missouri

Missouri Department of Transportation warns that holiday travelers are expected to run into roadwork across Mid-Missouri.

MODOT is currently working to resurface I-70 from the Missouri River Bridge in Rocheport to the St. Charles Road exit in Columbia.

Crews will also be working to repair the bridge over Richland Creek on Highway 54 near Fulton.

MODOT is asking drivers to avoid distractions to make sure they arrive to their destinations safely. Engineer David Silvester said, “Let’s see what if we can do to curbing the distracted driving. That means put your phone down as you’re driving the car. Minimize your attention to other details in the vehicle.”

MODOT offers a map that shows work zones across the state. To view the map, click here.
