Moberly fire under investigation after firefighters respond to possible explosion

The Moberly Fire Department responded to the 500 block of Patton Street on Sunday night for a possible structure fire caused by an interior explosion.

Firefighters said when they arrived on scene, they found a house with heavy smoke.

Firefighters said they went inside the residence and found no one.

The fire was contained to the first-floor bedroom and flooring of the upper level, firefighters said.

Firefighters said they could not find smoke detectors inside the house, and that the fire is still under investigation.
