Back-to-back crashes slow eastbound I-70 traffic near Rangeline Street exit

UPDATE: The second crash cleared just after 10 p.m.

UPDATE – second crash: A second crash has happened on I-70 minutes after the first crash was cleared Monday night.

It happened in the same location as the first crash, just east of the Rangeline Street exit.

As of 9:45 p.m., one vehicle appeared to be in the ditch.

According to dispatch records, at least one ambulance was called to the scene.

ORIGINAL STORY – first crash:

Emergency crews were on the scene of a crash on I-70 in Columbia Monday night.

The crash happened just before 8:15 p.m. east of the Rangeline Street exit in the eastbound lanes.

Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area.

At least one vehicle was towed from the scene around 9 p.m. and the crash cleared just before 9:15 p.m.
