Garage destroyed in early morning fire in Jefferson City

The Jefferson City Fire Department is investigating a garage fire that happened overnight Saturday.

Firefighters were called to Rock Ridge Road just after midnight. The department said a detached garage was fully involved when crews arrived.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to put out the fire, but they remained at the scene for another three hours to investigate. JCFD said the roof of the garage collapsed so firefighters had to pull out all of the metal roofing to put out hot spots.

No one was hurt in the fire.
