TRAFFIC ALERT: Multiple emergency vehicles respond to northbound Highway 63 for crash

UPDATE 2:02 pm: Emergency crews said the vehicle was heading southbound on 63 when the driver swerved to avoid a deer.

The driver veered left to avoid the deer, crossed over the median, went across northbound lanes and ended up down a hill off the side of the road.

Authorities said the driver went to a local hospital with minor injuries.

ORIGINAL STORY: Multiple emergency vehicles responded to northbound Highway 63 just north of Brown Station Road for a motor vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon.

According to public dispatch, more than seven emergency crews responded to the area just after 1 p.m.

Boone County Joint Communications advised drivers to avoid the area if possible.

ABC17 crews are heading to the scene to learn more about the crash.
