Lawyers for Columbia craft brewery company file dismissal request

Lawyers for a Columbia craft brewery company want federal defamation claims thrown out.

According to court documents, Shipyard Brewing in Maine is suing Logboat Brewery Company for copyright infringement.

Shipyard has also filed defamation claims in federal court.

According to court documents, the brewery company claims Logboat had a role in people posting more than 100 negative reviews on its Facebook page after it sued the Columbia-based brewery.

Attorneys for Logboat argue those comments are opinions shared by others, and none were made by Logboat or its owners.
