Gloomy start to the work week

MONDAY: It will be a cool and gloomy start to the day. Foggy conditions will stick around through the first part of the morning, with a brief window of some sunshine through the afternoon and early evening. Areas east of HWY 63 will likely see more sunshine by the second half of the day. By later in the day, clouds will build back into Mid-Missouri ahead of another upper level disturbance. Highs during the afternoon will top out in the lower 50s, with winds out of the south up to 11 mph.

TONIGHT: Cloudy conditions will remain as temperatures drop to near 40 degrees. Heading towards the morning we could see a few isolated and light rain showers. Winds will be out of the south up to 8 mph.

EXTENDED: We make a run into the upper 50s and lower 60s as we head into the middle of the week, ahead of another cold front. This cold front will set the stage for more rain to return to Mid-Missouri beginning Tuesday night. Initially we’ll see light showers Tuesday night before rain and thunderstorms track into Mid-Missouri by Wednesday morning. The cloudy skies and rain through the week will keep overnight lows in the upper 30s to upper 40s. Rainfall amounts by Friday evening across Mid-Missouri will be near .50″ in many spots. Another cold front is set to track through Mid-Missouri by the weekend. Not only will we see rain with this frontal boundary, but a return to cooler conditions will arrive by the weekend. Saturday and Sunday will see highs will top out in the lower 50s, with overnight lows near freezing. Watch ABC17 news for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
