Rolla man killed in Phelps County crash
A 55-year-old Rolla man died after crashing his car on Highway 63 Sunday morning.
The crash happened just south of Rolla around 8:30 a.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the driver, Karl Gabel, crossed the center of the highway, went off the road and hit a private drive before hitting a fence and a tree.
Gabel was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to the crash report, it’s unclear if he was wearing a seat belt.
