CPD investigating robbery at Smiley Lane McDonald’s

Police are looking for a man suspected of stealing money from the drive-thru window at a fast food restaurant in north Columbia.

Officers were called to the McDonald’s on Smiley Lane at 8:42 p.m. Saturday.

Police said the suspect reached inside the drive-through window while an employee was completing a transaction and ran away with money.

A K-9 unit was brought in to try to track down the suspect, but was unsuccessful.

Police said man was described as 6 feet tall and weighing 160-190 pounds wearing dark clothing.
