Overcast skies and light rain return to Mid-Missouri

TONIGHT: It will be a cool and overcast night across Mid-Missouri. Overnight lows will fall into the low to mid-40s, with light rain expected. Any rain we see will amount to less than .10″, with most of the rain falling across central Mid-Missouri. Winds through the night will be out of the southeast up to 9 mph.

SUNDAY: The light rain/sprinkles will continue through the morning hours on Sunday, as a frontal boundary slowly tracks through the region. Winds will shift out of the northwest up to 12 mph and slowly rid the region of sprinkles. While any precipitation is expected to come to an end before the afternoon hours, the overcast skies stick around through the evening. This will keep temperatures in the upper 40s and lower 50s through the day. By sunset, skies should begin to clear making way for temperatures to bottom out near freezing by Monday morning.

EXTENDED: We’ll have a dry and cool day Monday with highs in the low 50s but another chance of showers returns during the day Tuesday as a warm front lifts north through the area, warming temperatures into upper 50s. Tuesday night, a cold front will approach from the northwest and we’ll have an increasing chance of rain through Wednesday morning with highs in the upper 50s. Temperatures will remain in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees through the week, as a series of cold fronts keeps temperatures from climbing as high. By next weekend we are looking dry and seasonal, with highs in the lower 50s. Watch ABC17 news for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
