Troopers seize 4.8 pounds of fentanyl after a traffic stop in New Madrid County
UPDATE 11/9: Esteban was charged with delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to the probable cause statement, Esteban had a three year old child in the car at the time when troopers pulled him over.
ORIGINAL STORY:Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers arrested Angel Larar-Esteban, 27, of Phoenix, Arizona, after officers conducted a traffic stop on a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan.
Troopers said the car was traveling northbound on Interstate 55.
Officers said when they pulled over the vehicle, they noticed several indicators of criminal activity, and troopers became suspicious.
Troopers said they found 4.8 pounds of pure fentanyl, with a street value estimated at more than $3 million.
Officers said this was the largest fentanyl seizure in the state.
Larar-Esteban faces possible charges of drug trafficking and endangering the welfare of a child.
