Near record lows Friday morning

TONIGHT: The coldest air so far this season arrives tonight as lows drop into the upper teens near HWY 36 to near 20 along I-70 and mid 20s at the Lake of the Ozarks. Areas north of HWY 24 will drop into the upper teens under clear skies. A northeast breeze up to 10 mph will produce wind chills of 10 to 15 degrees by early Friday morning.

FRIDAY: Despite abundant sunshine Friday, our high temperatures will only reach the lower 40s as winds shift to the east up to 10 mph. Clouds will increase in the afternoon and evening.

EXTENDED: Our next best chance of rain comes Saturday evening, as a disturbance tracks in from the Rocky Mountains. Light rain showers look possible Saturday after 6 PM. There could be a few lingering showers early Sunday morning, but we will be dry by the afternoon. Any accumulation will be light as most of mid-Missouri will receive less than a tenth of an inch of rain. Clouds will begin to decrease by Sunday afternoon with high temperatures near 50. By next week, fair weather returns Monday and we’ll see highs slowly moderate back towards normal, reaching the upper 50s by mid-week and possibly to 60 by Thursday. There is a slight rain chance next Tuesday through Thursday as weak waves of low pressure move through. Watch ABC17 news for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
