75-year-old killed in Randolph County crash

A Cairo woman has died following an afternoon crash in Randolph County on Thursday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3 p.m. on Highway 63, just 2 miles north of Cairo.

A Chevrolet Silverado was following a Ford Explorer. When the Explorer slowed to make a right-hand turn, the driver of the Silverado crashed into the vehicle, causing both vehicles to overturn.

The driver of the Explorer, Marlene Mathis, 75, died from her injuries. Her passenger had minor injuries.

The driver of the Silverado, James Hartung, 32, of Macon suffered moderate injuries. His passenger also had minor injuries.
