Police believe suspect in Independence homicide may be in Columbia area

Independence police are looking for a homicide suspect in the Columbia area.

Police said on Nov. 2, three subjects were charged with murder, armed criminal action and burglary after a 72-year-old man was killed.

Two of the three subjects have been taken into custody but Nathan Hendricks is still being sought by police.

Police said Hendricks, 46, is from Hermann, Missouri. He may have fled to Columbia or Hermann, officers said.

He is believed to be armed and dangerous, according to police.

Police said Hendricks may be with Sheila Casey, who is also a person of interest in the case.

Officers ask anyone who has information about Hendricks or Casey to call the tips hotline at (816) 474-TIPS. A cash reward may be available for information that leads to an arrest.
