Spring-like weekend, storm chance Sunday

TODAY: Morning clouds will break up slightly in the afternoon as temperatures climb to the low 60s north of I-70 and mid to upper 60s south with southerly winds under 8 mph.

TONIGHT: It will stay mild with lows in the upper 50s to near 60 under mostly cloudy skies with a spot shower possible.

EXTENDED: Sunday will start off with a south breeze which will shift to the north as a cold front moves through during the day. High temperatures will range from the mid 60s in our northwest counties to the low to mid 70s near I-70 and close to 80 degrees near I-44. Skies will remain mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and t-storms as the front moves through. There is a marginal severe storm threat for large hail or damaging wind east of HWY 63. Rain moves out by 9 PM as much cooler air moves in behind the front. This will drop temperatures into the lower 40s Sunday night with highs Monday only near 50 with a slight chance of rain south of I-70. The cooler weather lingers into mid-week as high temperatures only reach the upper 40s Tuesday and Wednesday and nights drop into the lower 30s. After a slight rain chance Tuesday, we’ll stay dry Wednesday through Friday. Watch ABC17 news for the latest forecast and follow ABC17 Stormtrack on Twitter for updates.
