Man charged with unlawful use of a weapon in Moonglow shooting

Thomas Hayden has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance after deputies responded to the 100 block of Moonglow Lane for reports of a shooting.

According to the probable cause statement, Hayden had been holding a shotgun when he accused a man of stealing.

The victim told deputies he ran from the residence as Hayden followed him and fired.

Deputies said the victim told officers he feared his life while running away.

Deputies said they found methamphetamine at the residence.

Hayden told deputies he invited the victim to his residence and believed that the man was stealing from him.

Hayden admitted to confronting the victim while holding the shotgun.

Deputies said Hayden also admitted to telling the victim to leave, chasing after him and firing the shotgun to make sure the victim did not come back.
