Cool and windy day across Mid-Missouri

TODAY: It’s a cool afternoon across Mid-Missouri, with light rain showers tracking through the region. The light showers will last through the afternoon hours and eventually become sprinkles by late afternoon. Thanks to a frontal passage we’ll see very breezy conditions today. Winds will pick up out of the northwest up to 20 mph, gusting at times as high as 30. This will have our afternoon high of 50 feeling more like the lower 40s most of the day. Overcast skies will continue in Mid-Missouri for the first part of the day with clearing skies by the later afternoon hours.

TONIGHT: With clear skies in place it will be another chilly night as overnight lows drop into the upper 20s by morning. A northwest wind will continue up to 10 mph making wind chill values in the mid 20s for the Tuesday morning commute.

EXTENDED: Tuesday afternoon will see chilly conditions continue as daytime highs only rise into the mid 40s with clear skies. Sunshine will be on the decrease Tuesday afternoon and evening. For trick-or-treating, you will want to dress in layers with your costumes as it will be chilly. Temperatures will drop into the upper 30s by 8 PM Tuesday evening. With increased cloud cover we are tracking the possibility of showers Tuesday night after 7 PM into Wednesday morning as moisture moves in from the southwest. It looks like the bulk of the activity will stay south of Interstate 44, but upon initiation the rain showers should impact Mid-Missouri before tracking south. Temperatures through the middle of next week will slowly warm into the low to mid 60s, with it feeling more seasonable across Mid-Missouri and a chance for daily rain showers.
