Cole County deputies arrest man accused of shoving a victim in room, refusing to let her leave

Cole County deputies arrested Donald Steck on Saturday after they responded to the 13100 block of Rockhouse Road in reference to a domestic assault.

According to the probable cause statement, Steck shoved a victim into a bedroom against her will and refused to let her leave, all while he had a hatchet in his hand.

Deputies said when they searched the residence, officers found a bag of mushrooms, a syringe with methamphetamine, multiple baggies with methamphetamine and a spoon with methamphetamine residue.

Steck has been charged with domestic assault.
