Cole County arrests man after finding a gun and digital scale with methamphetamine on it

Cole County deputies arrested Alohn Griffin on Friday in the 3800 block of Del Ray Avenue after they stopped a vehicle with expired Missouri temporary registration.

According to the probable cause statement, Griffin was the back-seat passenger and gave officers a false name.

Deputies said a K-9 unit alerted officers to the possibility of drugs in the car, and deputies searched the vehicle and found a gun and a digital scale with methamphetamine on it.

Officers said they were able to properly identify Griffin and discovered he was a convicted felon.

According to the probable cause statement, Griffin had a $50,000 warrant for his arrest for violation of a court order.

Deputies said Griffin has an extensive criminal history dating back to 1999.

Griffin was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
