2 Columbia restaurants clean up after cars crash into buildings

Emergency crews responded to two cars that crashed into Columbia fast-food restaurants Saturday morning.

The Columbia Fire Department was first called to the White Castle on Clark Lane around 8:30 a.m. Assistant Chief Brad Fraizer said the driver’s foot slipped off the brake, causing the car to jump the curb and hit the restaurant.

Fraizer said firefighters replaced wall studs and the restaurant stayed open. No one was hurt.

Firefighters were later called around noon to the Taco Bell on Cinnamon Hill Lane where a car hit one of the restaurant’s windows. The window was boarded up and the restaurant continued service.

Fraizer did not have any other details on the crash.
