Troopers respond to a single-car crash after a car hit an embankment and went airborne

Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers responded to Route NN on Thursday night for reports of a single-car crash.

According to the traffic crash report, a Kia Optima was traveling northbound on the road when the car veered off to the right, struck a embankment and went airborne. The Kia struck the ground, began overturning and struck a fence, troopers said.

Troopers said the Kia was totaled.

The driver of the car, Charles Aubel, 59, had moderate injuries and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia.
