Police arrest man accused of threatening to kill everyone, swinging a knife in a threatening way

Columbia police arrested Colin Bell on Thursday afternoon after officers responded to Flat Branch Park for a disturbance.

Police said Bell had grabbed a male victim by his hair while he was sleeping, punched him and took him to the ground.

An unknown man pulled Bell off the victim, and Bell walked away, police said.

Officers said Bell then proceeded to pull out a folding knife and swung it around in a threatening manner toward a man and a woman.

The victims told police Bell was telling them he was going to kill everyone.

When police searched Bell, officers said they found methamphetamine.

Bell was arrested and faces possible charges of assault, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon.
