Man in the Boone County Jail after running from officers along I-70, police say

Columbia police arrested Ryan Williams on Wednesday after officers responded to the 700 block of Demaret Drive in reference to a stolen vehicle.

Police said that when they arrived on the scene, they found the stolen car behind a residence in the area.

Officers said they saw Williams and another suspect sitting in the car.

As officers approached, both Williams and the other suspect fled on foot from the vehicle, police said.

Williams and the other suspect were eventually located in a wooded area along I-70, police said.

Williams was arrested and faces possible charges of tampering and resisting arrest.
