Emergency crews respond to four Columbia crashes in 30 minutes

Emergency crews responded to four crashes in a 30 minute time span on Thursday afternoon.

The first crash happened at Green Meadows and Providence at 3:45 p.m. Firefighters said it was a multi-vehicle collision and one person had to be extricated.

The second crash happened on Route K at 3:53 p.m. Firefighters said there were no obvious injuries but one lane of traffic was blocked.

The third crash happened on Grindstone Parkway at 3:59 p.m. Joint Communications warned drivers to avoid the area if possible.

The fourth crash happened in the 100 block of Business Loop at 4:15 p.m. According to public dispatch, there were more than seven emergency vehicles on scene.
