UPDATE: Deputies arrest one man in connection with Moonglow shooting

UPDATE 10:45 a.m: Boone County deputies arrested Thomas Hayden, 61, after they responded to the 100 block of Moonglow Lane.

Deputies said they were called to Hayden’s residence following multiple 911 reports from citizens hearing gunshots.

The investigation determined Hayden had been in an argument with a 26-year-old man. The man told deputies Hayden discharged a shotgun several times outside the residence as he was leaving.

Deputies said they also found methamphetamine on the scene.

Hayden is currently in the Boone County Jail facing possible charges of unlawful use of a weapon, assault and possession of a controlled substance.

Hayden’s bond is set at $9,500.

UPDATE: 9:30 a.m.: Boone County deputies are continuing to investigate two possibly related incidents in eastern Boone County.

According to deputies at the scene, the first call came in for a reported hostage situation. Then more calls came in for shots heard. Deputies believe the two are related.

Deputies told ABC 17 that witnesses reported seeing a man running down the road yelling for help and a second man coming out of a home on Moonglow Lane, shooting a shotgun. They found three shotgun casings on the property.

The victim and the person of interest were taken to the Sheriff’s Office for statements and questioning.

More information is expected.

ORIGINAL: ABC 17 News crews are monitoring a situation in east Boone County involving the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The area involved is around Richland Road, Sunshine Drive and Moonglow Lane.

Crews on scene say they saw at least one deputy with his weapon drawn.
