Morgan County deputies arrest man accused of shooting at residence, hitting man in leg

Morgan County Deputies arrested Steven Plowman, 21, after a shooting at a residence on Ozarks Heights Road on Oct. 11.

Deputies said shots were fired through the walls of the residence from outside of the house. An man was inside the residence at the time of the shooting and was struck by one of the bullets in the leg, deputies said.

According to the probable cause statement, when deputies made contact with Plowman he at first denied the shooting but then admitted to it and showed deputies where the weapon was.

Plowman said he shot at the residence because a friend of his was getting threatening texts from the victim but did not plan on hitting him.

While deputies were searching the residence Plowman was found in they also found methamphetamine pipes.

Plowman is charged with assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a controlled substance.

Plowman’s bond has been set at $500,000.
