College of the Ozarks is now requiring freshman to take a class that encourages patriotism
The College of the Ozarks is now requiring freshman to take a class aimed at encouraging patriotism.
The school unveiled the military science course that aims to educate students on modern military customs, U.S. politics and flag protocol on Monday.
The course will also teach rifle marksmanship, map reading and rope knotting.
College President Jerry Davis said patriotic education “must be taught, it must be modeled and it must be emphasized.”
Last month, the school announced its teams would not compete against other teams whose players don’t stand for the anthem.
