Special prosecuting attorney requests arrest of former deputy accused of possessing child porn
UPDATE: According to the probable cause statement, an internal investigation was conducted at the Camden County Sheriff’s Department as a result of complaints from adult females, both civilian and within the department.
Deputies said the complaints involved various allegations of sexual misconduct and behavior by Wilson while he was on and off duty.
The woman told deputies that Wilson had communicated with them via cellphone, sending nude photographs, sexually explicit messages and videos of himself masturbating.
According to the probable cause statement, prepared by the Missouti State Technical Assistance Team, most of the videos and photos were sent via Snap Chat.
Deputies said Wilson was also accused of taking a minor into his Sheriff’s Department vehicle and rubbing and caressing her leg. He began kissing her on the side of her face and attempted to kiss her on her lips, deputies said.
Multiple female victims claimed Wilson sent them nude photos of himself via Snap Chat, and when they would block him, he would create different usernames.
According to the probable cause statement, Wilson attempted to follow a victim back to her residence but the victim was able to lose him on a gravel road.
Wilson’s MicroSD card was seized and detectives found 49 images of child erotica and child pornography.
Morgan County Prosecutor Dustin Dunklee was appointed as special prosecutor in the case. Dunklee did not return a message seeking comment on the case on Tuesday afternoon.
Online court records show that an arrest warrant for Wilson has not yet been issued.
ORIGINAL: Special Prosecuting Attorney for Camden County has requested an arrest of Leonard Wilson, a former deputy with the Camden County Sheriff’s Department, after he accused of possessing child pornography.
According to the complaint filed, Wilson knowing possessed child pornography that showed a person younger than 18 engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
The special prosecuting attorney of Camden County also believes Wilson committed child molestation by subjecting a minor to sexual contact by touching her through her clothing.
According to the complaint, Wilson is accused of furnishing pornographic materials by delivering material that is pornographic to a minor.
The special prosecuting attorney believes Wilson committed to the act of stalking by following a minor with the intent to disturb her, and repeatedly contacting the minor via text message and other electronic means.
According to a motion to appoint a special prosecutor, a special prosecuting attorney is required because of the relationship between Michael Gilley the Camden County Prosecuting Attorney and Wilson.
