Community groups, Columbia police to address recent shootings at upcoming meeting

The Columbia chapter of the NAACP will hold its third community meeting with the Columbia Police Department Tuesday evening. The meeting, which is open to the public, is at 7 p.m at the Second Baptist Church (407 E Broadway).

The series of meetings aims to improve community relations with the police and will address the string of gun-related incidents that occurred last week. There were 11 incidents involving a firearm and/or gunshots between Oct. 17-22.
