Man hit in head during possible home invasion, deputies say

UPDATE: 12:00 p.m.: Boone County deputies confirm they are investigating an armed home invasion in the 5900 block of Teresa Drive.

The 51-year-old man told deputies he was in his living room when he heard his back door forced open around 1 a.m. He told investigators there was man holding a hand gun.

The resident told deputies there was an altercation between the two and the suspect fired one shot but did not hit anyone.

The suspect then fled the residence on foot heading west on Teresa Drive.

The male victim sustained a cut to the head and was treated by medics at the scene.

The victim’s wife, 45, and 18-year-old son were also at the residence but not injured.

ORIGINAL STORY: Boone County deputies are investigating a possible home invasion that happened early Monday morning.

According to deputies at the scene, a home on Teresa Drive was broken into and a man was hit in the head with an unspecified object.

Deputies told ABC 17 crews on scene that the man drove himself to the hospital.

A K-9 was called in to help search the area for a suspect. No one has been taken into custody.
