Jefferson City Public Schools hold town halls over topic of diversity
Jefferson City Public Schools have scheduled a few town hall meetings to address community diversity.
The meetings come after four district students posted an insensitive, racially charged photo that went viral online in September.
District officials are now looking to hear community input on diversity issues, and how they can be improved upon.
Superintendent Dr. Larry Linthacum and others will host Tuesday’s meeting at the Boys & Girls Club of the Capital City. Another town hall meeting is set for Tuesday, Nov. 7 at Hawthorn Bank’s Community Room. A third will take place the next day, on Nov. 8 at Mid-America Bank in Holt’s Summit. All meetings will run from 6-8 pm.
