More than 10,000 people expected in Columbia for Mizzou homecoming

Within the city if Columbia, there are about 3,800 hotel rooms.

The Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau said several of the hotels in Columbia are booked for Mizzou’s homecoming weekend and its expecting tens of thousands of people to be in town.

Traffic is expected to be delayed, especially within downtown Columbia and near Mizzou’s football stadium.

Portions of five streets within downtown will be closed off because of the homecoming parade, which starts at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

The parade will start at Rollins Street, head to Hitt Street and University Avenue, continue on Ninth Street to Broadway and end on Fifth Street.

Kickoff for the homecoming game starts at 11 a.m.
