State Auditor rates Office of the Attorney General as fair

Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway released a citizens summary on Thursday rating the Attorney General’s Office as fair.

According to the summary, opportunities exist to strengthen the planning and oversight of the new case management system.

Galloway said the Attorney General’s Office did not prepare project budgets or estimates of the system changes required for the CMS.

The summary also shows the AGO lacks adequate policies and procedures to identify and address certain potential conflicts of interest.

Another issue Galloway noted is that the AGO has not established a written policy regarding personal leave.

Galloway said she has noted in prior audits that the AGO does not adequately document the selection process of outside counsel and it is still an issue.

ABC17 has reached out to the AGO for further comment.
